MY country, the PHILIPPINES, is situated at a crossroads of the Pacific Ocean and the South China Sea and Sulu Seas.It is an arhipelago of 7100 islands,with a total land area of 300,000 square kilometers.Approximately, around 55 million Filipinos inhabiting the land..mostly occupying the three main islands-LUZON,VISAYAS, and MINDANAO.It is a country of diverse cultural groups, costumes and languages.

The Philippines was named after Spain's King Phillip II. Ferdinand Magellan discovered the country on March 16,1521.For more than three centuries,we are colonized by the Spaniards.But eventually, we gained and declared our independence on June 12,1898-(in fact we've just turned a 100-yr old this year).
